CHASS Career Development Services

Woody Catoe

Dr. Woody Catoe serves students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at NC State. Prior to joining the Career Development Center, Woody was in a full-time private practice as a professional counselor and worked as a corporate career consultant with a major executive consulting firm. Additional professional roles have included serving as director of student affairs, a community college instructor, and an associate minister in pastoral counseling. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Divinity in Theology and Counseling, and earned the Doctor of Education in Counselor Education degree from NC State. Woody is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Jane Matthews

Jane serves students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.  Prior to her role as a Career Counselor, Jane served as a Recruiting Assistant for the Career Development Center at NC State.  She also co-coordinates the Career Development Center’s Ambassador Program. Jane brings to NC State a background in both corporate recruiting and hospitality management.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from NC State University, and completed her Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Development in 2013, also at NC State.
